Capiz shell chandelier is an iconic Pinoy product that has mutated in various forms and colors. Enter any souvenir shop in the Philippines and you’d not miss these handmade chandeliers.

Capiz shell is a flat, semi-transparent shell with a pearlescent appearance and is often used in interior decorating. Geographically speaking, Capiz is an island province in central Philippines facing the Sibuyan Sea to the north. The eponymous shell is the outer shell of the marine mollusk, Placuna placenta, found in shallow Philippine coastal waters. The Capiz chandelier adds or create a breezy and coastal feel. But grand versions of this chandelier- with an equally grand prize tag!- can be quite elegant and is often found in the homes of the rich.

  1. A capiz shell chandelier is one of the most beautiful and affordable chandeliers available. A stunning shimmering effect is created as air gently passes through the shells of the capiz chandelier, radiating light in graceful patterns throughout the room, instantly adding elegance and class. I just love my capiz chandelier! A must have for any home
