Maria Cristina Falls is a waterfall of the Agus River, Iligan City in Mindanao, southern Philippines. Perhaps the best-known tourist destination in Iligan City , the Maria Cristina Falls spews around 130 cubic meters per second of water and is the main source of industrial power in Iligan.
The 320-feet high falls is located at the borders of Barangay Maria Cristina, Ditucalan and Buru-un villages, around 9.3 kilometers away from Iligan City. Since the waters of the falls is being harnessed for electric power, full grandeur viewing of the waterfalls is every Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 in the morning.
Maria Cristina Falls is also called the “twin falls” as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the waterfall. Iligan City is nicknamed the City of Majestic Waterfalls, because of the presence of more than 20 waterfalls in the city.
